Description

Teach characterization in a fun and unique way!

I gave students dating profiles and they had to "figure out" what kind of "character" each person was, given the different details they have on their profiles (direct characterization).

Then, they had to figure out who would make the "best match" for me!

All profiles were not used, pick and use which ones are the most appropriate for your class.

My 9th graders absolutely loved this activity! I am single and added a twist that included them finding the perfect person for me. I have never had students so engaged. "Oh look, Ms. {insert my name], this guy works out. You want a guy with muscles," insisted one of my girls. I added to this activity and had them write persuasively to convince me that their pick was the best. There was lots of laughter, while learning.
