Check for Understanding: Daily 5
These “Check for Understanding” cards are meant to be used for Daily 5 as reminders when students are engaged in “Read to Someone.” However, the students in my class also use it during “Read to Self” and any other time they need reminding to use this comprehension skill. If you don’t do Daily 5 in your classroom, these are still perfect for using during any independent or guided reading time.
You can run these off in color or black and white on cardstock or construction paper. Laminate for durability. Make enough copies for each student to have their own card!

* Color Card (approx. 5 in by 9 in)
