Check for Understandings are designed to accompany a Building Thinking Classroom. The purpose of this resource is for students to have learned the material and have problems that range in difficulty to try after the vertical practice time.
Ways to use this resource include:
- After lesson formative feedback. Let the students complete it on their own and then conference one-on-one with them about how they did. (MY FAVORITE!)
- As an opportunity to practice where students are given the option to complete the problems.
- As in class work or homework that is collected and graded. (Not BTC)
However you wish to use this in your class, students are sure to gain practice with the concepts!
