Description
This is a two-day (or more) project.
Day 1: Students brainstorm the possible topics for a story problem, which relate to winter break, holidays, Christmas, etc. Then students write a story problem, which must involve a minimum of two operations to solve (you can set the guidelines, depending on your level of students).
Day 2: Students use their word problem to complete a comic strip project page. The comic strip shows the set up and action of the problem. Students also describe in words what their problem is asking and how to get the solution.
Students can share their projects with the class. It's a great way to end the last few days before Christmas Break!
