This 34-card deck of self-checking, digital task cards is a fun way to help your math students practice classifying rational numbers! Students are shown one question at a time and LOVE getting instant feedback as they classify whole numbers, integers, and rational numbers (this set does not include irrational numbers).

Classifying rational numbers can be a tricky concept for students, so I broke the activity down into the sections described below. My goal by going in this order is to help students understand each type of number separately before looking at combinations of the different types using the graphic organizer. You can hide any cards you don't want students to see when you assign the cards to your students.
Cards 1-9: Whole Numbers (definition, yes/no questions, multiple-choice identifying which numbers are whole)
Cards 10-18: Integers (similar questions as above)
Cards 19-24: Rational Numbers
Cards 25-34: Using Graphic Organizer to sort rational, whole, and integers.
Boom Cards work on just about any device that can access the internet. They're self-checking and you can even track student progress through Boom Learning℠! You can assign Boom Cards (with Google Classroom, Moodle, etc.) to individual students, groups of students, or use with a projector for the whole class. Check out the preview to test out the first few cards! Open the full-size preview and hit submit to get instant feedback on your answer. You can also click on the links in the preview if you have questions about Boom Cards or getting started with Boom Learning.
