The line by line exercise supports students with paying close attention to the passage by reading each paragraph and highlighting the most important detail. Students practice paraphrasing to help them synthesize information. This resource is intended for student practice. They must already be familiar with identifying the topic and main idea. They must also be familiar with conducting the line by line exercise.
