Description
Looking to add some pizzazz to your Creative Writing class? In a multi-step group project, students collaborate to write a creative story together. Students focus on following a plot arc, incorporating dialogue and making sure their stories flow well together. Group revisions, a metacognition poster project and self-reflections enhance student learning and help students to reflect on their writing and team efforts during the story-writing process. I've also included a comprehensive rubric that assesses students individually on their writing efforts. Individual students write a 1 1/2 - 2 page story section and groups will combine their story sections to create a roughly 8 page final story.
Students can present their stories to the class and vote on the "best" story for an overall winner to add a fun, competitive spirit to the unit!
