Description

ORGANIZE, REPRESENT, AND INTERPRET DATA - 1.MD.C.4

I created this packet to provide my students with additional practice on collecting, graphing, and analyzing data using tally charts, picture graphs, and bar graphs.

THE SET INCLUDES:

  • vocabulary picture cards for 6 key terms
  • picture graphs and bar graphs with preloaded data to analyze
  • several open-ended graphing pages, allowing children to collect real data from their peers

The analyzing pages vary in problem-solving difficulty and allow students to respond:

  • with single words
  • in sentences
  • and in standardized form (bubbling the correct answer)

I have also used these materials for additional HOMEWORK practice and formative ASSESSMENTS.

Wonderful Resource
Rated 5 out of 5

Met expectations
Great value
Standards-aligned
The teacher resource from Teachers Pay Teachers (TPT) was used as a structured support tool during lessons to reinforce key concepts and provide engaging practice opportunities for students. It was implemented during both whole-group instruction and independent work time. The resource included clear directions, visually appealing materials, and differentiated activities, which made it easy to adapt for different learning levels in the classroom. The teacher found it especially helpful for saving preparation time while still delivering high-quality, standards-aligned content. Student feedback was largely positive. Many students reported that they enjoyed the interactive and visually engaging elements of the resource. They found the activities easy to follow and appreciated the variety of tasks included. Several students mentioned that the resource helped them better understand the topic and kept them more engaged compared to traditional worksheets. Overall, the resource was effective in supporting student learning and was well-received by the class.

Organize, represent, and interpret data with up to three categories; ask and answer questions about the total number of data points, how many in each category, and how many more or less are in one category than in another.
Use addition and subtraction within 20 to solve word problems involving situations of adding to, taking from, putting together, taking apart, and comparing, with unknowns in all positions, e.g., by using objects, drawings, and equations with a symbol for the unknown number to represent the problem.
Apply properties of operations as strategies to add and subtract. If 8 + 3 = 11 is known, then 3 + 8 = 11 is also known. (Commutative property of addition.) To add 2 + 6 + 4, the second two numbers can be added to make a ten, so 2 + 6 + 4 = 2 + 10 = 12. (Associative property of addition.)
