ST. PATRICK'S DAY SCIENCE ACTIVITIESEach time I make a holiday science set, I think, "Oh this one is my favorite." But I actually think this one is it. HOW TO ASK QUESTIONS - Kindergarten and First GradeThis is a fun, age-appropriate set of materials that can be used to teach young children how to ask good questions (who, where, when, what, why, and how) when they are reading and writing. I created these materials after realizing that simply saying and posting the question words wasn't effective for our students just learning to read. Our new anchor charts, made with these visuals, are much more effective and have made the questions accessibl

Teaching style

Who am I? I have 20 years of teaching experience with primary children. Most of those years have been with children in 1st and 2nd grades, as well as intensive reading remediation with K-3 students and serving as our school's literacy coach for 4 years. I believe children learn best in classrooms that are highly engaging and cooperative in design, with a focus on multisensory instruction. Integrated studies are important to me so children experience a connectedness throughout their day and across the year.
