Fourth Grade Addition and Subtraction 2 teaches students how to write the inverse operation of addition and how to write fact families. The concept of inverse operation is explained and modeled. Students learn the definition of addend and sum. They use the inverse operation to find missing addends in number sentences. There is a title slide, objective, essential question, vocabulary, concept development, step-by-step demonstration on how to write fact families and find missing addends, guided practice, checking for understanding, problem solving steps with a word problem, and a reward slide at the end. For best results, students should have white boards and dry erase markers.
