Fourth Grade Problem Solving - Find a Pattern - This is perfect for distance learning on Zoom or similar formats. On top of that it is powerful when used as direct instruction in the classroom. It teaches students how to find a pattern with numbers or shapes that follow a given rule. They identify features of the pattern and are therefore able to solve the problem. The four steps of problem solving are followed: Analyze the problem, decide how you're going to solve the problem, solve the problem, look back and check. There are 22 effective teaching strategies used in this lesson base on research. For best results, students should have white boards and dry erase markers.
