The Math Inquiry packet is a cooperative learning program that I use in my classroom for hands-on exploratory learning. Students rotate through four inquiries a week in order to investigate, question, and understand math concepts.

This Math Inquiry Packet includes 73 different inquiries, which are directed towards first grade math concepts. It also includes supportive inquiry pages, detailed instructions, inquiry descriptions, a summary inquiry prompt sheet, a blank inquiry sheet (sorry, it can't be edited), and my first week's journal reflections.

Student Engagement

Students definitely benefit from hands-on learning experiences. They enjoy learning and are engaged as they complete the inquiries. Working with others also encourages student engagement. It is fun and they feel more comfortable with the extra support.
