Description
This Smartboard document contains 16 math inquiry questions that lead students on real life investigations using math.
-The first page is an overview, containing information and ideas on how to use the document.
-The next 16 slides are example inquiry word problems. Each page has a shade that can be slid down to reveal prompting questions for struggling students/ groups or in direct instruction to teach problem solving strategies.
-The last four slides are templates to review plans that students came up with or to teach plans to students. These slides include a page to write out the plan, a page for showing the work/organizing the information, a page for the answer and a page that has numerous reflection questions for small/ large group discussion or journaling topics.
You can keep this document on hand so that you do not need to brainstorm ideas for inquiries. You can have the students do the work on a piece of notebook paper, or you can download my math inquiry organizer. Keep an eye out for my next two Smartboard Math Inquiry sets (geometry and the history of math). The history of Math will be a free download. Enjoy and feel free to leave me some feedback, so I can improve the documents.

Thanks great for my students
Awesome product, thanks!
Great resource. Can't wait to use it. Thanks.
You will love these open ended questions. The students love solving them and defending their answers. Since their answers can vary based on their processes, it's fun to compare and debate their process and answer. When my students finish their math early, they always ask if they can do an inquiry.
