Description

This set covers Mathematical Content Standards 2.NBT.1, 2.NBT.3, 2.NBT4, understanding three digit numbers and their value, 100 as a bundle of 10 tens, read and write numbers to 1000 using base ten numerals, names, and expanded form, comparison of two, three, or four-digit numbers (can be used for 1st grade with 2 digit numbers) based on meanings of hundreds, tens, and ones digits using <, >, = symbols to record compared results on two different worksheets. This set along with probing using Focus Questions provided and mini lesson plan will move your students beyond thinking of numbers as 285 as 200 ones plus 80 ones plus 8 ones to the concept of 20 bundles of 10, 8 bundles of 10, and 5 singles. Sample Focus Questions, mini lesson plan, and everything needed to complete this activity. Variations can be made by grouping number of players from 2 partners to 4 partners and varying from greatest number to smallest number. This is great practice for use in small group instruction, centers, or individual reinforcement.
