This resource includes 12 common questions/concerns with answers/solutions.

I have had my share of discouraged, worried, and skeptical team members. It is important that team members feel supported. When team members don't feel supported, the likelihood of AAC abandonment increases. This resource can provide SLPs with quick responses to those common AAC concerns. For SLPs with more AAC experience, this is great to have on hand for team members to review.

Playing Our Part Speech Therapy was created by Jennifer Lozano, M.S., CCC-SLP. Jen has worked in the public schools, primarily with preschool and elementary including special day classrooms. She now is a private practice speech therapist going into homes to promote play-based and child-led therapy. This also provides opportunities to coach families how to establish language-rich environments.
