This activity was created as an assessment for my 6th grade math students. Students cut out the boxes from the second page and glue them in the correct locations on the table (page1) so that each row (left to right) shows equivalence. This assessment also assesses students ability to recognize equivalent fractions.
I personally used this activity as an exit ticket toward the beginning of the year, as it reviewed background knowledge for them, but it can be used in a variety of ways.
Answer Key included on third page.
Use decimal notation for fractions with denominators 10 or 100. For example, rewrite 0.62 as 62/100; describe a length as 0.62 meters; locate 0.62 on a number line diagram.
