Description

This step by step, discussion driven, no-prep notes and practice set that covers Comparing Linear, Quadratic and Exponential Functions is a great way to teach & introduce constructing linear, quadratic and exponential functions, given a graph, a description of a relationship, or two input-output pairs (include reading these from a table) to your students. The first page of the notes is more instructional and goes over how to distinguish types of functions from multiple representations with 12 examples to discuss together.  The second page can be used as independent practice or as guided practice, where students work independently, with a partner or within a small group. This set’s practice has 14 scaffolded problems.  Students and teachers love how easy these notes are to follow and understand.

These notes give a very structured procedural approach to distinguishing between different types of functions.  The practice problems included are scaffolded so that they begin at more of an entry level difficulty and then progress into a deeper complexity to encourage problem solving and “productive struggle”.

This product (PDF) includes

     ● Guided Notes Printable Page

     ● Answer Key

These notes are great for in class or distance learning! They include clear instruction, key words & vocabulary, and a variety of examples. They are easy to turn into videos.
