  • 5 Posters
  • Student Practice Sheet (doubles as notes page)
  • Instructions for and photos of Interactive Student Bulletin Board
  • 32 Task Cards

Background Knowledge and Purpose:

Students should know that a subject and predicate make up a basic sentence. Students should be able to identify the subject’s main noun and the predicate’s main verb. These task cards are to be used as practice in identifying correctly written examples of compound sentences and three types of simple sentences (compound subjects, compound predicates, and compound subjects with compound predicates.)

TASK CARD USE:

These cards can be used in a variety of ways including, but not limited to:

  • group or partner work
  • individual work
  • literacy/writing center
  • early finisher work
  • extra credit
  • tutoring groups
  • As a "Scoot" game
  • *individual or group race (give allotted time, person/group with most correct in that amount of time wins!)
