Description

Step-by-step directions guide students through:

  • using a variable to store user input,
  • using a variable to produce an output,
  • creating your own variable,
  • setting and changing the value of a variable.

This unit consists of three separate activities of increasing difficulty. Students create a different program in each activity and are then given prompts to demonstrate their learning by adding on to the program. Answer keys are included. The editable PowerPoint includes short embedded videos that demonstrate what the student program should be doing at certain points. They are encouraged to test and troubleshoot their code. Screenshots are from Scratch 3.0.

I love how comprehensive the directions were. Students can build the project on their own, and even take it further if they want to.
