This project will ask students to create a program that simulates a coffee pot's functions. During the project, the students will be asked to do the following:

  • Identify the logical series of steps involved in solving a problem
  • Graphically represent the solution to non-numeric and numeric problems
  • Use accepted programming standards and conventions for documentation, style, readability, naming of variables, subprograms, etc.
  • Create code that can be reused
  • Use subprograms that pass parameters
  • Document the program code
  • Assign meaningful names to variables using accepted conventions

Includes:

  • A document describing the project
  • A sample solution program written using Python
  • A template students will extend written in Python
  • A sample solution state diagram (word doc and draw.io doc)
