Description
Computer Science Code 'Unplugged' Simple Programming Grid Activities without a Computer!
***Perfect for #RemoteLearning / #DistanceLearning or #Homeschooling***
Computers operate by following a list of instructions or commands, called a program. This ‘unplugged’ activity will give students some experience with how the basic idea of programming works.
Computers follow a list of instructions or commands. They do exactly what the directions instruct them to do. Using the grids and combination of arrow cards, write ‘code’ to get the characters (‘Start’) to their ‘End’ points one line at a time.
In groups of two, one student will verbally say or write down the steps to go from the starting point to the ending point. The other student will use the arrows to show the code that corresponds to their commands. Please note that there are many combinations of code that can be created, however, the challenge is for students to complete their code in as few lines of code as possible.
