Description

Make graphing fun and interactive with this Coordinate Points Boom Cards deck! Students practice working with ordered pairs in the first quadrant of the coordinate plane. Half of the deck asks students to identify the coordinates of a plotted point, while the other half challenges them to plot a point at a given coordinate by dragging and dropping.

Each card is self-checking, providing instant feedback to students, while teachers can track data and monitor progress with a free Boom Learning account.

This deck is perfect for independent practice, digital math centers, small group reteach, or distance learning.

What’s Included:

  • 1 Boom Cards deck with 12 interactive self-checking cards
6 cards: Students name the coordinate of a point plotted on a graph and 6 cards: Students drag and drop to plot a point at the given coordinate
  • Student-friendly directions on each card
  • Self-checking and auto-grading features
  • Teacher data tracking with a free Boom Learning account

to see state-specific standards (only available in the US).
Use a pair of perpendicular number lines, called axes, to define a coordinate system, with the intersection of the lines (the origin) arranged to coincide with the 0 on each line and a given point in the plane located by using an ordered pair of numbers, called its coordinates. Understand that the first number indicates how far to travel from the origin in the direction of one axis, and the second number indicates how far to travel in the direction of the second axis, with the convention that the names of the two axes and the coordinates correspond (e.g., 𝘹-axis and 𝘹-coordinate, 𝘺-axis and 𝘺-coordinate).
Represent real world and mathematical problems by graphing points in the first quadrant of the coordinate plane, and interpret coordinate values of points in the context of the situation.
Understand a rational number as a point on the number line. Extend number line diagrams and coordinate axes familiar from previous grades to represent points on the line and in the plane with negative number coordinates.
