Description

Do you want an engaging task box activity to add to your math centers or task box activities? If so, this counting work task box is perfect for your special education classroom. Your students will have so much fun using pompoms to place into the gumball machines.

The task cards contain a gumball machine and a short instruction with symbol support. Students need to read - or be read - the instruction and then place that amount of pompoms into the gumball machine. We love to use pompoms as it makes the activity more fun and hands-on. It also means we can work on our students fine motor skills too.

Your students will love working on their number, instruction, counting and fine motor skills with this hands-on and engaging task box activity.

Instructions

  • Print out the included task cards.
  • Cut out and laminate the task cards.
  • Provide your students with pompoms. Students place the amount of pompoms into the gumball machine that the instruction tells them.

Your students will love working with this fun gumball math activity to work on their counting, number recognition, instruction and fine motor skills. This is also a great way for your students to work on understanding the connection between number and quantity.

These task cards fit perfectly into photo storage boxes - making it easy for you to stay organised and keep all the pieces together.

This is a super cute activity and I do love that it can fit in a task box! The gumball visual is a little bit smaller than I thought it would be, but I plan to use it to just counting up to 5 objects.

My students loved using this during rotations as a hands on center activity. The fun design and using the pompoms and adding tweezers helps with texture and fine motor skills.
