I have been a special education teacher for students with moderate to severe disabilities for the past 7 years. My experience in the classroom, along with limited resources available for the population I worked with, pushed me to create materials for my students that were aligned to state standards, but also accessible for all of my students abilities. After leaving the classroom, I knew my job wasn't finished with continuing my work in creating engaging, meaningful materials for teachers to use in their classroom.
