The objective of this series is to provide a way for educators to teach science inside the math block using math skills, while the students learn both disciplines. In the current educational setting where the emphasis is so heavy on math and reading, science, social studies and other curriculum areas are often left out. This series recognizes that with a little imagination you can provide enriching lessons in alternate curriculums at the same time you are providing a core mathematics lesson.

In this particular activity set, students will meet Math Common Core Standard CCSS.Math.Content.1.MD.A.1: Order three objects by length; compare the lengths of two objects indirectly by using a third object.

Additional activities also allow students to explore the 5 senses while comparing the size of objects to each other in length. The pages include cut out images you may use at stations.
