Description
Students will choose a cycle in nature (water, carbon, or nitrogen) to research, and write an article for a newsletter of a conservation group, such as the National Wildlife Federation, or similar local group. A fun way for students to create their own knowledge about water, carbon, and nitrogen cycles, interdependency among organisms in ecosystems, effects of human activity on ecosystems, and environmental issues! This problem based performance task combines language arts and science to satisfy multiple state standards. Bonus...it includes a scoring rubric!
