Description

Decimal Place Value - mastery is a must for this critical concept! This game is essential for any unit that involves decimal place value. It can also used as a challenging review at the beginning of the year and as many times as necessary. It is a fun way for your students to use the names of the various digits repeatedly and with a great deal of thought, thereby helping them master decimal place value once and for all (and forever!). It consists of 20 reusable “What number am I?” cards that can be easily laminated, cut up, and distributed to students to play a who-can-get-the-most-correct-answers game. Also provided are instructions to the students, a worked-out example that demonstrates how to attack the riddle cards, a detailed place value chart for review before starting the game, an answer sheet to record answers and any necessary work, and an answer key for teacher use. Just review the place value chart, describe how to find the solution to the practice riddle card, explain the rules, and send the students off on this exciting educational game!

NOTE: By customer request, this product has recently been upgraded to include a section on ORDERING DECIMALS. This section includes a quick review of how to put a group of decimals in order from least to greatest, and a fun puzzle to cement these concepts.

My students love these riddles! I used this as a review after decimals/place value. I like the fact that there is an example that the students can be guided through. I actually used these as a whole class competition and put the riddles under the doc camera and students used their white boards to come up with their answers. The whole class enjoyed it! Highly recommend!
