Use this chart to help to record and observe your students miscue and self-correction of unknown words. The process encourages student to decode and provides them with different strategies and ways they can figure out an unknown word. This chart will hopefully help move students from needed support determininf the necessary decoding strategies and instead eventually be able to do so independently.
