I use this activity to help students plan a map of a city or town that they will later draw on a poster board.

I have uploaded the activity in MS Word format so that you can change the activity to meet your own specific needs. The only part of the activity that can't be changed is the Employment Chart as it's an image.

I have included a short and long version of the evaluation for the prep work and a rubric for the poster board design. I usually photocopy all of the material and hand it out as a package.

I have been using this activity with Grade 7 and 8's and it's quite well received. I have used it for 3 or 4 years.
