Description

Complete a monitoring log to determine a toileting tendency in order to develop a toileting schedule.

Teach a toileting routine. This includes setting clear rules/expectations as well as the steps of the process. Maintaining a log with the type of prompts or assistance is important to determine progress and/or effectiveness of the determined program.

Additional supports include: visual strips for the routine and positive behavior supports for toileting routine, toilet social story and handwashing routine

It is truly surprising to me the significant increase in the number of students having toileting issues in upper elementary schools this year. I used this as a part of my student's OT program and to provide information and support for classroom personnel.
