Introducing Development & Learning (Learning Edition)
Are you prepared to delve into the fascinating world of Learning with your students? Look no further than my comprehensive unit bundle, meticulously crafted to align with the latest College Board Course and Exam Description (CED) published in 2024. I have decided to break the larger 5 units into smaller units, that are still under the scope of the core 5 pillars. This was requested from student and teacher feedback. Development & Learning will be separate unit bundles, Learning Edition & Development Edition. If you prefer to teach the five larger units as comprehensive segments, you can easily teach the editions back-to-back or combine the slides together to create a streamlined learning experience.
What's Included:
- Visually Stunning PowerPoint Presentation: My meticulously crafted presentation covers all the essential terminology outlined in the new CED, ensuring your students grasp key concepts with ease. I've added concrete examples with most of the concepts. Each term in the CED is in the slides.
- Science Practice Warm-Ups: Get your students primed for success with daily science practice warm-ups, complete with an answer key for quick feedback. These warm-ups mirror the format of the exam's free-response questions, providing valuable practice opportunities, especially for the Article-Analysis Question (AAQ).
- Customizable Unit and Lesson Plans: Take control of your curriculum with my comprehensive unit plan and lesson plan templates. Tailor each lesson to suit your classroom's unique needs while staying aligned with the CED guidelines. This is great if your administration or district requires planning to be submitted in writing. I have added template lesson slides if you need to break up the block schedule lessons into smaller lessons to match your class periods.
- Engaging Unit Project Packet: Guide your students through the unit's content with my structured project packet, complete with a cover page, terminology list, and detailed rubric for easy grading. This method is one of the biggest factors in my students being successful on previous AP exams. It is a change from previous retrieval guides. It is focused on collecting information from the slides, adding concrete examples of the concepts, and the students creating mnemonics for better encoding.
- Lecture Notes: If you are new to the content or need to refresh as you prepare for the lesson, these organized lecture notes will help you feel confident in teaching the material to the students (43 pages).
- Supplemental Activity Suggestions: Access a plethora of supplemental activity suggestions accompanying each term in the slide notes, providing invaluable resources/options for enriching classroom engagement and fostering deeper student comprehension.
Interactive Activities and Worksheets: Keep students engaged with hands-on activities and worksheets designed to reinforce learning.
- Everyday Associations: Classical Conditioning Practice Application Worksheet (30 Scenarios, Answer Key Included)
- Shaping Behavior: An Operant Conditioning Practice Worksheet (30 Scenarios, Answerk Key Included)
- Learning Station Activity (Classical Conditioning Station, Operant Conditioning Station, Social Learning Station, Insight Learning Station, Latent Learning Station)
- *Bonus Item: NEW AP Psychology CED Digital Instructional Planning Organizer
Lessons:
- Learning by Associations
- Learning by Reinforcement & Punishment
- Learning by Insight & Observation
*Not included: Unit Assessments. I recommend using AP Classroom's question bank when it is released in the late summer of 2024.
All on Google Slides: Everything is conveniently accessible on Google Slides, allowing you to make a copy to edit and customize to your own teaching and students' needs.
Say goodbye to overwhelm! With my unit bundle, you'll have everything you need to deliver a dynamic learning experience that prepares students for success in AP Psychology and beyond.
Development & Learning Smaller Units:
Retrieval Guides: This PowerPoint bundle already includes a comprehensive project packet, which I personally use in my classroom to engage students and enhance their understanding of the material. I attribute the high passing rates of my students to the effective use of these project packets because they encourage deeper processing. However, in response to frequent requests from other educators, I have also created a retrieval guide that is available for separate purchase. These guides are designed to complement the PowerPoints by emphasizing information retrieval and application, supporting diverse teaching strategies and student learning preferences.
With the release of the new Course and Exam Description (CED) in psychology, I see it as an invaluable opportunity to break away from the constraints of previous teaching materials and start fresh. Rather than spending time restructuring outdated units, I've chosen to embrace the new CED as a chance to revamp my curriculum/design entirely. This decision not only ensures alignment with current standards but also allows for the implementation of innovative teaching strategies learned from over 10+ years of teaching AP Psych that promote active engagement and deeper understanding of psychological concepts.
