Description

These NO-PREP guided Google Slides take students through step-by-step, follow-along lessons for Division and Multiplication Strategies. The lessons use clear graphics and video tutorials to teach a variety of strategies included: decomposition, traditional algorithms, models, area method, box method, etc. Each lesson can be posted in Google Classroom and has a Warm Up, Guided Lesson, and Your Turn Questions with a separate Answer Key which includes FULL SOLUTIONS to the problems. I choose to have my students fill their answers in on separate paper at home, take a picture & share, and then I upload the Answer Key after the due date.

What's Included:

  • Multiplication Lesson 1:
3-digit by 1-digit numbers using Decomposition, Traditional Algorithm (stacking), and Models (base-ten blocks)
  • Multiplication Lesson 2 (Slideshow 1):
2-digit by 2-digit numbers using the Area Method

  • Google Slideshow that takes students through a Step-by-Step lesson on a set multiplication or division strategy.
  • Lessons follow this format:
    • Warm Up (guided "minds-on" work
    • Learning (students take action on problem and teachers notes guide them through the solving of it)
    • Your Turn (problems for students to answer without any teacher prompts) Answer key included with FULL solutions using strategy taught.

  • Answer Key for students to check their work
  • Lessons include spoken-video tutorials on each strategy taught
  • How-To Guide for following the lesson students included in the slideshow
  • How-To Guide for Teachers: tips on posting to google classroom (includes a video tutorial and explains how to "schedule" posts so that you don't have to release the answer key at the same time that the lesson goes out.

This is the CLOSEST we can get to teaching in person, and is laid out in a very simple, easy-to-understand format.

If you're worried about accountability, you can have your students take a picture of their answers and post to google classroom or email to you BEFORE you release the answer key!

I didn't get a chance to use this with my students last year, but I will definitely be using it in the future. I am a big lover of visual learning and this is a great tool for that.

Great remediation resource students can watch and practice independently on Google Classroom. A way to reinforce what you've done with them in a small group or before a small group.
