Description

Move pepper with just a touch soap across the surface of water in a bowl. It's not magic, it's science! This could be one short session or many sessions depending on the options you choose. Students can listen/read a short text explaining the science and answer essay questions.

I pulled a couple of resources out of Elementary Chemistry: Cohesion and added much more to make this easy to share with your students as an online or independent activity.

Do you need your resources to be available online?

  • Import the Word™ documents into your online classroom. Edit the documents to customize them.
  • Import the activity videos, audio and video recordings, and PowerPoint™ resource to share.

Do you need to create a work packet to send home?

  • Print the independent work packet that includes: the How To worksheet, a short text, and suggestions for extensions!

Are you concerned about students understanding the text?

  • We created videos for the How to, short texts in English and Spanish, and the extensions that highlight the text as it is read to students.

What if students don’t have all the supplies?

  • Watch short videos showing the activity only or watch short videos that show the activity while the set up and the science is explained.

A PowerPoint™ has several copyright free images that can promote student curiosity as they learn about water and cohesion.

A web page created just my distance learning cohesion products has resources that are kid friendly, easy to read, often with activity videos, and few if any distracting ads.
