Exponents practice just got more engaging with this digital math game, a fun, self-checking, easy way to review concepts as a whole class, in small groups, or individually.

The ratios game begins with Truth and Dare grids that allow students to select questions and self-check answers as they navigate through 36 question cards and 36 answer cards in Google Slides.

  • As long as you have access to Google Slides, you can use this math game! (If you aren't using Google in your classroom but can access the Google link, you can download as a PPT and use in the same way.)

Playing this math game:

The game begins with a Truth grid and Dare grid that leads students to then navigate through 36 question cards and 36 answer cards in Google Slides.

Students select a question on the Truth or Dare grids, which takes them to a question slide.

  • "Truth" questions are true or false questions (worth 1 point) addressing:
    • Vocabulary
    • Exponent meanings
    • Basic computation
  • "Dare, questions address more difficult exponent computation questions (worth 2 or 3 points).

The exponent game questions require students to:

  • Identify definitions/meanings of exponents
  • Evaluate exponential expressions
  • Compare values of exponential expressions
  • Find missing exponents or bases
  • Convert exponential expressions to expanded form

The resource you download is a PDF that includes:

  1. Link to the game file
  2. Detailed instructions for how to use it
  3. Student directions for playing
  4. Teacher answer key
  5. A printable recording sheet (in case you decide to have students record their answers on paper)
  6. Link to a Google Form you can use if you'd prefer to have students view the game in Present mode

As long as you have access to Slides, you can use this math game! (If you aren't using Google in your classroom but can access the link, you can download as a PPT and use in the same way.)
