Description
Divisibility rules, whether you're introducing or reviewing, are so engaging with this math doodle wheel!
You can use the print or digital version, or both, depending on student needs!
What is a math doodle wheel? This wheel is a type of graphic organizer where students can:
- Take notes inside the wheel
- Use color, drawing, and doodling to help create memory triggers
- Complete practice in the pattern around the wheel, and
- Color the background pattern
Students can keep these graphic organizers in their interactive notebooks all year as a resource/study tool. You can even enlarge them and use them as a poster or anchor chart!
- The wheels are excellent for reviewing concepts as part of your test prep.
This easy-to-use divisibility rules resource includes:
- THREE versions of the student wheel, each WITH and WITHOUT the patterned background ~ so SIX versions total:
- 1st version (‘open’) has space for students to write all notes ~ this gives the most flexibility to tailor the wheel to your teaching.
- 2nd version has fill-in-the-blank notes; this can help control the amount of space students use for writing.
- 3rd version has pre-filled notes for students who need pre-filled notes or were absent during instruction. Examples & answers to practice problems are NOT included on this version.
- The versions with no background are included for students who might find the background pattern distracting.
- Teacher key/wheel with completed notes and examples
- Colored sample of print wheel
- Practice page and key
- Link to digital, interactive wheel and practice page in Slides (could be downloaded as a PPT if you aren't using Google Slides in the classroom but can access the link)
- A PowerPoint file that has two blank, editable wheels, so you can add text to make your own math wheels, if you’d like (for classroom use only - not commercial use).

What students will do:
- Drag the large numbers to the 7 ‘open’ sections of the wheel.
- Type digits into the provided text boxes to complete each rule, and then drag the rule to the correct section of the wheel.
