Description
Ask kids to work on sorting by giving them one card at a time and a pile of different color pompoms or wooden dots to match them to the cards by placing a dot or pompom of the same color on top of each circle on the card.
This can also be turned into a game if you have a small fabric bag that you can place all of the pompoms or wooden dots in. Each player will take one of the pattern cards. When it is a player's turn, he/she will reach into the bag without looking and will pull out one of the pompoms or wooden dots. If he/she needs that color on his/her card, he/she will place that pompom or wooden dot in the circle that matches the color of the pompom / wooden dot. If he/she does not need that color, he/she will place the pompom / wooden dot back into the bag. Then it is the next player's turn. Once a player has all three circles filled on the card, they return the pompoms / wooden dots to the bag and take another pattern card. The player with the most pattern cards at the end wins.
