No Prep Earth Day Activities

This is a collection of Earth Day activities that practice a variety of MATH and ELA skills. It is common core aligned.

(Letters) 1. Recycle ABC - Trace the letters (capital letters)

(CVC Words) 5. Changing Sounds In Our Changing World - Change one of the sounds to make a new word. Write it and draw a picture for it.
(Blends) 6. Missing Blends - Fill in the missing blends. Write each word twice.
(Digraphs) 7. Missing Digraphs - Fill in the missing digraph. Write each word twice.
(Digraphs) 8. Water Land or Sun Sounds - Color the hearts with the words words that have sh - green, the ones that have wh - blue and the one with th - yellow.
(Digraphs) 9. Water Land or Sun Sounds - Color the hearts with the words words that have ee - green, the ones that have oo - blue and the one with ai - yellow.
(Phonics) 10. Roll and Read - Roll a die, read a word and color the box. Repeat until you color all the boxes. (CVC Words)
(Phonics) 11. Recycle Words - It is very important that we sort the things for recycling. Now you are going to recycle words. Sort them according to the heading on the recycling bin.
(Sight Words and Graphing) 12-13. Graph Sight Words - Find the sight words and color one box for every word you find. How many did you find?
(Sight Words) 14-15. Growing Sight Words- Change one of the sounds to make a new word. Write it and draw a picture for it.
(Sight Words) 16-17. Earth Sight Words - Spin and write a sight word. Continue until you reach the end of all lines.
(Sight Words) 18. Color by Sight Words Color the picture using the sight word key.
(Reading) 19. Read and Sequence - Read the story. Cut cut and paste the pictures in the same order as the ideas are mentioned.
(Rhyming) 20. Rhyming Drops - Say the word in the cloud. Read the words in the drop. Color all drops that have words that rhyme with the one in the cloud.
(Vocabulary and Writing) 21. Earth Words - How many words can you think of that start with the letters E, A, R, T, H. Write them in the boxes.
Look around the room for help.
(Writing - Brainstorming) 22. Share some ideas about what you can reuse, reduce and recycle to help the Earth. - Roll a die, read a word and color the box. Repeat until you color all the boxes. (CVC Words)

(20 frames) 28. Earth Ten Frame Match - Cut and paste the numbers to match the ten frames.
(Number Bonds) 29-30. Earth Number Bonds - Fill in the number bonds
(Place Value) 31. Recycle Tens and Ones - Cut and paste the bin to match the numbers.
(Place Value) 32. Place Value Boxes - Write how many tens and ones there are then write the number.
(Addition and Subtraction) 33. Plant Some Math - Solve the provlems.
(Addition) 34-35. Sort the Rubbish - It is very important that we sort the things for recycling. Now you are going to recycle words. Sort them according to the heading on the recycling bin.
(Counting and Addition) 36. Add the Bottles - Count and tally the plastic and glass bottles then add them together.
(Addition and Subtraction 1-10) 37. Roll and Solve - Roll a die, solve a problem and color the box. Repeat until you color all the boxes.
(Addition 1-20) 38. Roll and Solve - Roll a die, solve a problem and color the box. Repeat until you color all the boxes.
(Subtraction 1-20) 39. Roll and Solve - Roll a die, solve a problem and color the box. Repeat until you color all the boxes.
(Addition,Subtraction and Graphing) 40. Graph the Results - Solve the problems. Color one box for every result you get.
(Addition 1-10) 41. Spinning Earth - Spin once on the Earth and once on the recycling symbol using a pencil and a paper clip. Write down the numbers then add them together.
(Addition 1-20) 42. Spinning Earth - Spin once on the Earth and once on the recycling symbol using a pencil and a paper clip. Write down the numbers then add them together.

(Telling Time) 44. It’s Earth Hour - Cut and paste the digital clocks to match the time on the analogue ones.

SUGGESTED USE
As these pages require no preparation, you just need to print them, they can be a great last minute Earth Day Activities. You may use them in centers, as morning work, homework, early finishers, RTI,etc.
