This compressed zip file includes the following for each of the 16 lessons in Module 3 of the 5th grade math curriculum from Engage New York (38 total files):
Guided Notes Worksheet for Students (Word Document, editable)*
Guided Notes Answer Keys (PDF, grouped by topic)
Coordinating SmartBoard Presentation (Smart Notebook, editable)
Problem Set Answer Keys (PDF, grouped by topic)
Lesson plans (including pacing, dialogue, exit slips, homework assignments, mid-module and end of module assessments, etc) for each of these lessons is available through the free curriculum on engagenewyork.com. It is recommended that you review these free lesson plans while preparing to use these documents since many concepts are taught using specific vocabulary and methods.
The questions for the student debrief at the end of each lesson are included on the “Problem Set” slide. A color copy of the answer key for each Problem Set is also included at the end of each lesson’s Notebook file. Although it is not required to have students check and correct the Problem Set, I like to have students review their answers before our class discussion.
These are the guided notes and notebook files that I use daily in my classroom. I have done my best to catch and correct any typos and errors before posting them on TPT. Each lesson has a welcome screen that includes the date and a to-do list for students as they enter the room. You will want to adjust this to fit the needs of your classroom/students.
I closely follow the pacing and script suggestions provided in the Engage New York resources. I pause after each topic (or every other topic, depending on the length and number of concepts) to review and quiz students, in addition to giving an end of module assessment.
There is a free PDF sample (not editable) of one lesson (from Module 1) available in my store. Feel free to review that first to see if this product is something you are interested in!
