Exponent/Root Tree Poster
Share

Description

This is a helpful poster I display in my middle school classroom when talking about exponents and roots. I used 5^3=625 as my model. As you can see, the root or base is the roots of the tree, the exponent or index is the trunk, and the power or radicand is the leaves. I designed my visual this way in order that students would be able to visualize the connection between roots and exponents, going up or down the tree.

As a hands-on activity, I also had my students design their own trees for different exponential/radical expressions.

Creating a bulletin board would have also been a fantastic idea to do with this!

I'm only charging a small fee, because this was a bit tedious to design. :P Thank you for supporting me!
