Description

This Exponential Functions and Graphs, Key features, properties, and transformations activity is an engaging, rigorous way for your students to practice graphing and determine the key characteristics of Exponential Functions with multiple representations.

  • In the first part of the activity, students analyze 18 graphs, all transformations of a basic function, and identify which transformations were used to graph the 18 functions. None of the functions contain "e".

  • Then students work on 8 different exponential functions, determining key properties. They enter values into a table, find the domain, range, asymptote , x-intercepts, y-intercepts, and determine transformations before graphing the function. There are over 70 questions in all for your students to complete. This was designed to be completed without a graphing calculator.

I have set this up so that you have a lot of versatility. The activities can be used as a Worksheet, Concept Map, Task Cards, Stations, or as pages for Interactive Notebooks. Answer keys are included. Please see the link below for the digital version.
