Always make time for practice! Practice must be done at school and at home!

My product ideas come directly from students, what they share with me during our interactions. This summer a student stated that he needed more practice with his multiplication tables and he specified the individual tables. So, I created activities tailored to his needs.

All the products I create are for practice, just like in sports Mathematics practice is important for learning, knowledge, understanding, retention, application, analysis, synthesis, and evaluation of concepts. Practice helps student make associations between and within concepts, which helps them to understand the inter-connective nature of Mathematics from grade to grade, and domain to domain.

Note taking is included in all Practice Activities to help student learn of to take effective and concise notes. Effective from the point of view that notes must be useful and can be used to do home, classwork, and study independently.

An exponents practice activity with a note-taking mini lesson could include the following components:

  1. A mini-lesson on the concept of exponents, including the definition, the rules for multiplying and dividing exponents, and the rules for raising a power to another power.
  2. A set of practice problems that students can complete independently or with a partner. These problems could include simple exponent calculations such as 2^3, 5^4, and 8^2, as well as more complex problems that involve multiple exponents or exponents with different bases.
