Description
4 weeks of adding and subtracting mixed review (all rules/skills) fact practice: 1 week of addition, 1 week of subtraction, and 2 weeks of mixed review (+/-). The week of addition include sums of 9, 10 and 11 so the sum of each is not simply 10. Each week includes a packet you can create with 4 practice pages, 1 assessment, and 1 bar graph students can use to record and monitor their own progress. In my classroom, students complete these within 2 minutes using a timer. Includes additional implementation suggestions if you wish.
I have found that implementing fact practice this way increases student motivation and engagement. It is also a perfect opportunity for students to assess and monitor their own progress which administrators love! Create packets for math centers, homework, or whole class fact practice... whatever works for you and your class.
