Do your students love STEM and fairy tales? This collection is for you! This pack includes 10 building and engineering projects based on a fairy tale themed problems. Students will build a parachute to help Jack escape the giant and construct a toothpick house for the Three Little Pigs. Eight other exciting and creative tasks! Pictures included!
Great for use in a STEM or gifted classroom.
For each activity, students will build or create a structure using everyday household or classroom items. These activities are designed to encourage critical thinking and scientific reasoning skills, as well as, problem solving and teamwork.
Each activity can be completed in one class period of an hour or less.
Each of the 10 tasks include:
-detailed notes to teacher
-student recording sheets (4 options)
-rubric
-extension menu
-letter to parents
-picture examples

Students love this resource since it is connected to classic fairytales, this resource is adaptable to all grade levels.
Great packet of resources for supplementing learning of fairy tales
Once a month I pick a fairy tale to read the students and then they know that they will have a science project to match with it. I don't know who is more excited me or the students.
I have completed a few of the fairy tale STEM activities with my AIG students and they have really enjoyed them. I like that not a lot of resources are needed to do them.
