Fidget Spinner Math!
Directions:
Have students pair up.
Spin the spinner.
While the spinner is spinning, have students come up with as many equivalent fractions as they can. The fraction they are trying to find equivalent fractions to is written on the page. There is a blank page without any fraction written. You can write in whatever fraction you want your students to practice.
When the spinner stops, have students count how many equivalent fractions they came up with. They should double check to see if they have the correct equivalent fractions! You can have them check by using a calculator. For example, if the fraction is 3/6, when they type in 3 divided by 6 in the calculator, it should say 0.5. All equivalent fractions to ½ should be 0.5.
The one with more correct fractions is the winner!
No spinner available? Have students race against time! Use a timer app on an electronic device or a simple hourglass timer and have students race each other to see how many equivalent fractions they can come up with before the time is up!
Helpful Tips:
You can laminate these papers and have students use dry erase markers to write down equivalent fractions.
You can put these in clear sleeves and use them over and over again!
