Personification - Figurative Language

This 28 slide PowerPoint is colorful and supremely engaging! Students will absolutely love Petey the Parrot, and will no longer feel like personification is so difficult to understand. Students will have several examples to understand what personification is, then be challenged to find the part of the sentence that is personification, and finish it off with determining whether or not a sentence is personification. To complete the lesson, students must complete a constructed response (CC) question to determine mastery of the common core standard.

Alliteration - Figurative Language

This 36 slide presentation is a great way to teach alliteration over the course of a few days or a week. Farmer Frank will take your students through direct instruction, guided practice, and independent practice, as they have a blast learning this fun standard. At the end of the presentation, students will have a chance to practice a slide of Common Core Constructed Response to sum up what they have learned. So, take your students to get down and dirty on the farm to learn alliteration and practice their figurative language skills!

Onomatopoeia - Figurative Language

Students will learn how to identify onomatopoeia, as well as choose the correct onomatopoeias according to context. You will enjoy watching students understand the concept through fun examples and colorful animations! Use whiteboards to make this figurative language PowerPoint, and your class come to life!
