As we all know, students are obsessed with music, so using it to practice figurative language skills was very fun for my kiddos. They really enjoyed reading some of their favorite lyrics and breaking out in song, and it made a difficult skill so much more relevant for them. The only thing I will say, though, is that some of these songs are too "old" for them, so they don't necessarily have the same impact more current songs might.
