Description
This short, six question quiz is the perfect introduction to teaching the First Amendment. First, students read each statement and determine whether the action is protected under the First Amendment or not. Next, you will go over these answers and students will see how much they knew about the First Amendment prior to the lesson.
This fun and engaging activity requires zero teacher preparation (an answer key is included) and can quickly progress from an individual student activity to a class discussion. I was amazed with the focus and enthusiasm this activity generated among my seventh grade students as we transitioned into learning about the First Amendment!
