Description

Want to make your first day or week with your students more interesting? Maybe you need an easy way to learn about your students while also creating a community of learners. This activity is for you!

This worksheet provides all the framework for you to invest as much or as little time as you want into it.

Here are some suggestions for how to use it --

1. Give it as a Do Now on that first day so you can focus on attendance or seating charts.

2. Use one or more of the questions as closures to class to learn about your students.

3. Spark a debate about the color of math.

4. Pro Tip: graph the debate! Use the graphs to informally assess your students' understanding of graph creating and analysis. Bring it back later when your pacing gets to statistical graphs!

5. Refer back to their goals throughout the school year to help them evaluate their successes. This is a lifelong skill that you can help develop.

6. Reflect on their answers during planning to help you plan how to best serve each class. It might give you some ideas for future lessons or projects!

If this product isn't quite what you're looking for, I have another First Day Math Informational Sheet that might be right up your alley. Check it out!

If you really like this product, maybe you'll also like my Teacher Evaluation Form (for students) for an end-of-year evaluation of yourself. I find it useful for reflecting on my practices and improving the next year.

Remember that when you purchase this product, you agree to use it with your students only. If you want to share it with a colleague, please purchase multiple licenses or refer them to my store. Thank you!
