Whether you are doing a lesson on encoding and decoding, or you need a no-prep activity for early finishers in technology or STEM, this resource is for you. Teach your students the “secret code” of how people texted in the ‘00s. Students practice encoding and decoding information while learning about how people used to text in the olden days. (You had to press a button *three* times to type *one* letter?!)

This resource includes:

  • Practice encoding a message in “flip phone code”
  • Two messages to decode
  • Answer key
  • A page with spaces for one student to write a coded message and another student to decode it
