Spring Flower Pattern Cards & DIY Egg Carton Garden Center

Turn a recycled egg carton into a math center this spring during your garden themes. Help your little learners grow their early math skills with this hands-on patterning flower activity. Designed specifically for toddlers, preschoolers, and early intervention, this activity turns abstract patterns into a tactile, gardening adventure.

How to Use:

Students select one of the 28 included pattern cards and plant their garden to match. By pushing the flower stems into the garden bed, they are building the fine motor strength and hand-eye coordination essential for pre-writing skills.

Easy 3-Step Prep:

This resource is designed to be low-cost and high-engagement.

  1. Prepare the Garden: Paint an empty egg carton brown (to look like dirt). Turn it upside down and make a small slit in each of the 12 egg spots.
  2. Prep the Flowers: Print and laminate the flower heads. Attach them to green craft sticks (the "stems").
  3. Print the Cards: Print, laminate, and cut the 28 pattern cards.

What’s Included?

  • 28 Pattern Cards: A diverse range of sequences to differentiate for your learners.
